The Galaxy has become a common symbol, in a way each galaxy is like a city of stars & solar systems.
The galaxy has become synonymous with information, communication & data storage.
There is the Galaxy_Nexus, Samsung_Galaxy phone & the galaxy symbolism can be seen at apple.com, but apparently people aren't suppose to look very deep into the symbolic design of galaxies & think of them being like a dvd-blu-ray. Just simply a big network of cosmic discs.
